Important international showcase for Cabras and Sinis
Is Arutas will be the host of the third stage of the World Cup of cyclocross. The appointment in the marina of Cabras is for Sunday, December 8. It will start in the late morning with the women's elite race and then continue in the afternoon with the men's race.
This is the first time the Cyclocross World Cup has come to Sardinia. And it certainly won't be the last, as the island has already been confirmed as a venue for the 2025-2026 season as well.
The race route in Is Arutas will be laid out in an area between the two kiosks. A village will also be set up in the Sinis locality to host conferences and meetings with cyclists and teams.
The calendar of the Mondo was announced last spring by the Uci, the International Cycling Union. The organizer is the Belgian company Flanders Classics, and looking after the Sardinian stage will be Crazy Wheels - Cycling Academy, led by president Luca Massa. Valuable, of course, will be the support of the Municipality of Cabras.
The Crazy Wheels - Cycling Academy was founded in 2017 in Treviso, but already for a few years the sports association has found a home in Sardinia and is now based in Santa Giusta, with about 60 members.
The World Cup stage in Is Arutas is sponsored by the Regional Department of Tourism, Handicrafts and Trade. The event website will be online in the coming days and tickets to watch the races will be available for purchase.
The cyclocross competition will not be the only international sporting event scheduled in the coming months on the Sinis Peninsula. In April 2025, in fact, the Le Dune municipal cross-country track in Riola Sardo will find again for the fifth year in a row the Fim World Motocross Championship.
