On Sunday, in Antwerp, Belgium, the Cyclocross World Cup 2024-2025 and with her the great performers of the discipline will begin to warm up their engines ahead of a winter of mud, meadows and ... sand. The third stage of the World Cup, organized by Flanders Classics, will in fact land on one of Italy's most fascinating beaches, that of Is Arutas, a Cabras, in Sardinia.
The appointment, reserved for the categories Elite Women and Men, it is for theDecember 8 and will be set up thanks to the collaboration between the Sardinian Crazy Wheels, PP Sport Events and the Municipality of Cabras, with the valuable contribution of theDepartment of Tourism of Autonomous Region of Sardinia and of the Mont'e Prama Foundation, the cooperation of thePeninsula of Sinis Marine Protected Area. Tickets are already on sale on the event's official website to gain access to the course (€15) and get a very close look at the cyclocross stars.

La Is Arutas Beach, located along the west coast of Sardinia, in the territory of Cabras (province of Oristano), is characterized by a sandy shoreline composed of colored quartz grains, ranging from white to pink and light green, resembling grains of rice, giving it an unmistakable appearance in a wild natural setting free of invasive buildings. The Elite Women, who will shoot at the 13:40, and the Elite Men, at the 15:10, will be measured on a circuit of about 3 kilometers that includes sand, grass, knolls and a finish on an asphalt driveway surrounded by palm trees. All with an exceptional backdrop, the turquoise color of the Mediterranean Sea.
"Each winter, the Cyclocross World Cup sets course for a new destination, and we are especially pleased that this year it is Cabras, Sardinia - he said. Tomas Van Den Spiegel, CEO of Flanders Classics -. This is another important step toward the internationalization of this discipline. The course, compared to all the other stages, will be unique because it is designed by the sea. We are looking forward to coming to Is Arutas on December 8, exactly one week after the second stage in Dublin and just before the busy Christmas season."
"For several weeks we have been working to build the pathway - he added Luca Massa, president of Crazy Wheels -. The event will take place on a wonderful area, and for this I particularly want to thank the Municipality of Cabras and the Region of Sardinia for the support they are giving us. Our goal, besides giving the kids a chance to see this discipline and the great champions up close, is to show how Sardinia can be a destination for cycling tourism and training even at this time of year. Having 20 degrees in December is a luxury that few areas in Europe can boast."
"After the European Gravel in Asiago, we are particularly happy to collaborate again with Flanders Classics, with whom an excellent synergy is emerging - was instead the comment of Filippo Pozzato, CEO of PP Sport Events -. This time we have moved to an area of Italy that is new to us, but which I can guarantee is stunningly beautiful. Seeing the greats of cyclocross on the shores of the Mediterranean, on the prized sands of Is Arutas, will truly be an unmissable spectacle. We know that logistically it is not an easy trip for teams and fans, but the hope is that the uniqueness and charm of this event can still drive many fans to the coast of Sardinia, to spend a different and electrifying weekend."
